NYIMPROV.COM

Being a stand-up comedian, as well as a web designer, this project was near and dear to my heart.

I was contacted by The New York Improv Comedy Club to redesign their website that had been up for a few years without changing. (See former site)

The goal of this project was to "grab" the tourist crowd in the Times Square area, as well as woo local audiences so they would take in a show or two at the New York Improv Comedy Club.

I chose to add the schedule and ticket purchasing info to the homepage to promote the weekly line-up and to let the user realize the site is constantly being updated. Not to mention, how many shows and great comics are performing there regularly.

Due to licensing issues, I had to incorporate "The New York" and "Comedy Club" into the original logo. I solved this problem by mimicking part of the Improv sign and giving a stenciled look onto the brick wall.

The brick wall in the header IS the NY Improv. Many comedy sites do have the wall, but, the Improv has been around for over 40 years in NYC and that is their "schtick".

I am credited as gigglechick.com on the NYImprov.com website because that is my comedy site that also has access to my portfolio site.
